Hooray for modest swimsuits!

How beautifully modest are my two sweet girls in their new swimsuits?

I am so happy we were able to get these suits so R and S can enjoy swimming and still be modest. They love them, the suits are very comfortable, and their Daddy is very pleased. I'm so happy we found Simply Modest Swimwear and we feel very blessed to be able to order suits from them for the first time. They also sell patterns and fabric, so we might try sewing our own when these are outgrown. The service was really great, too.

Breathless

This spring has left me breathless, not only with the beauty of green growing things and beautiful blooms, but also because we have a lot going on and things are so busy here at Pecan Bluff. I have tons of pictures to share that show some of what we've been up to, so those are coming up soon.

The gardens are truly amazing this year. We've been very dry and windy all spring, but everything is still looking great with some extra special care from the busy gardeners. We are so excited about all the goodies growing in the two gardens ~ that's right, we've got two big gardens this year! So, so exciting!  We now have lots of room for all those huge vining plants that seem to eat up garden space as they grow, and that is such a blessing.

We are still enjoying broccoli, asparagus and onions, while hoping for great crops from our potatoes, corn, onions, tomatoes, peppers, peas, green beans, squash, pumpkins, and melons. And I'm sure I forgot something ~ they are really big gardens! The lush green plants look absolutely beautiful right now.

While we eat breakfast each morning we watch curious crows visiting the gardens looking for something good to eat. I guess some scarecrows will be needed pretty soon to keep those pesky crows at bay. Sounds like a fun project for the kids!

On a Roll with Fleece

R has been making fleece blankets for lots of family members the past few months. They've all turned out so cute and are well-loved. This particular blanket took some extra effort, and lots of extra fabric. Cousin M is very tall and long-legged, so he has trouble finding a blanket long enough to cover him from head to toes. Well, this warm cammo blanket R made for him will do the trick. It is long enough that he can wrap up in it and even keep his toes warm. Doesn't he look pleased?

Dress Up Shoes

Oh, the cuteness! I love the sound of Baby S clomping around in her plastic dress up heels. She walks like a champ in them, and really loves dressing up with hats and bows and purses. Such a very fun age!

How about twenty in twenty-seven?

I didn't make my deadline for the Twenty in Twenty Challenge to de-clutter our home and share things we no longer need. But, I did finally get my twentieth bag tossed today! Yay! And thanks to my family for pitching in where asked and for giving generously to the donation center.

I'm pretty burned out on sorting and purging for now, so I'm taking a break to enjoy the empty spaces we found. We may still try to tackle our big barn/garage before the weather warms up too much, and I know that big job will be rewarding when we accomplish it.

Our Guitar Star!

HA had a great performance this week in his very first classical guitar recital. We are so proud of his rousing rendition of Lightly Row. Great job, HA!
